Cobi Black and Andre Van Es have signed their Letter of Intent to compete at Providence in the fall. They have been friends since childhood and will transfer together from Neosho County Community College in Ottawa, Kansas.
Cobi, son of Bethany and Benjie Black, will be studying business and hopes to someday play professional soccer. He grew up playing club for WSO United and enjoys music, time with friends, and playing soccer. His favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13. "I chose Providence because it felt like home on my visit and I met some great people!"
Andre, son of Doug and Gari Van Es, was introduced to the game of soccer when he was three by his granspa Jack. Andre also grew up playing soccer for WSO United and his High School team, as well as running the 400m and 800m races in Track and Field. "When I visited Providence I enjoyed meeting everyone there. Everyone made me feel like I was at home, and that's what made me choose providence over other schools."
